Wellbeing Wednesday – Summer Support

Spotlight on… Summer Support

Over the summer students can still receive support for health and wellbeing. The Wellbeing Service continues to operate as usual over the summer. The only part of the service that does not run out of term time is the evening counselling clinic.

The Student Health and Wellbeing Service provide a number of online options which are available 24/7. These include:

  • Talk Campus (mental health and peer support)
  • Silvercloud (online CBT programmes)
  • iNCLude app (ideas and support to maintain good wellbeing)

In addition, students needing support over the summer break are invited to email pastoral.support@ncl.ac.uk.

The wellbeing therapy workshops will be still running so you keep checking the events page and the workshop page to find events, as well as general health /wellbeing tips.

 

Be Well with Newcastle University Libraries

Be well@NCL is a collection of tried and tested books, chosen in partnership with the University’s Student Health and Wellbeing Service and other health professionals. They are available to be borrowed by anyone in the University to help understand and manage their mental health and wellbeing.

Some of the titles are available as e-books so you can read them online. You can check if a book is available by looking it up on Library Search.

 

Newcastle University Students’ Union

The Students’ Union will be running virtual events over the holidays for students to participate in. You can find out more at https://www.nusu.co.uk/whatson/events/.

 

Sports and Fitness

After the pandemic and the amount of time spent in lockdown, many of us will be looking forward to getting back to the gym, for both our health and to enjoy team sports with others again. Business School in Intramural Sport

The Business School have several teams which compete in our Intramural Sport programme which consists of a variety of sports providing opportunities to play in leagues, tournaments and received coaching from our Sports Leaders.
