Student Wellbeing Support in Newcastle University Business School

We are writing to update you on some additional student wellbeing initiatives available in the Business School in Semester 2.

Designated Business School Wellbeing Support

From Semester 2, the Business School will be rolling out some ‘in-house’ Student Wellbeing support which is available to all students. This service will enable Business School students to have access to and to book appointments with a counsellor or mental health adviser on the Helix site. This is in addition to the central support offered by Student Health & Wellbeing service.

When booking an appointment, students will be given the option of telephone appointments or appointments on the Helix site, Kings Gate or the Student Union and you can choose your preferred location.

Our Business School counsellor started offering Business School specific appointments from w/c 27 January and the full service will be rolled out from 02 March.

Wellbeing Wednesdays

Each Wednesday morning, the Business School will be showcasing a range of support services from across the University. We will focus on a different service each week and you can drop in to the NUBS main reception to meet with representatives who will be able to answer any questions you might have and highlight the support available on campus to Business School students. The services covered will include: Library, Writing Development Centre, Maths aid, Chaplaincy, Student Wellbeing and Reslife.

Personal Tutors

Students are also reminded of the role of the personal tutor. Each student is allocated a personal tutor and you can find their details via S3P. The personal tutor is there to support your personal and general academic development so do get in touch.
