My exchange year experience at Newcastle University Business School

Hey there! I’m Erin, a final year student from sunny Barcelona. I’ve been studying International Business and Economics for the past few years, but I am also a Spanish novelist.

Picking Newcastle for my exchange year was a mix of excitement and curiosity. This city, snuggled up by the River Tyne, had an irresistible charm. Its rich history and lively vibe promised an adventure of a lifetime, this city has so much to offer that I couldn’t have chosen better.

When I came to Newcastle University, I found a warm community and the promise of many opportunities. Living here has been great! I very much enjoy having breakfast in Waterstones surrounded by books and walking through the beautiful city. The best part? A huge student community to support and enjoy your time there. Every day there are many events and parties for students. Even during the week there are many things going on. People here are very friendly. As an international student, sometimes it’s difficult to communicate in English with local residents, but they are very patient and always try to make you feel comfortable.

Now, let’s peek into my time at Newcastle University Business School. It’s been a wild ride of learning and growing. The classes are great, very well equipped and teachers are always willing to help you clear doubts. But not only that, as a student you can benefit of many things at University. The Careers Hub is very useful, you can find tutors to guide you and help you figure out what you expect from your University journey.

As I get ready to say goodbye to Newcastle and head off into the real world, I’m feeling thankful for all the great moments and lessons this city has given me. From the classroom to the cobblestone streets, Newcastle has left its mark on me. Cheers to the memories, and here’s to the next chapter.
