Become a Business Ambassador

Do you enjoy the buzz of events and the thought of sharing your experiences with future students? Look no further than our Business Ambassador roles.

Every year we recruit a number of enthusiastic students to help with a variety of roles within the School, from supporting our events, to writing for our student blog, creating social media content, taking part in marketing photoshoots and focus groups, and supporting employer visits.

Typical activities may include:

  • representing the School at on campus/virtual recruitment events (Visit Days, Open Days, Post Application Open Days) delivering campus tours for prospective students and their families
  • assisting with the running of Business School events, including set up and takedown
  • sharing your experiences in online recruitment webinars for prospective students
  • contributing to School-wide events, such as Future Focus, and using social media to build awareness of these events
  • taking part in photoshoots for use in promotional materials
  • writing blogs focusing on your student experience in Newcastle
  • producing videos about your time as a student with us, sharing your perspective under the guidance of the Marketing Team
  • generating email content for students/prospective applicants (providing student insights)
  • taking part in our student focus groups

Flexible working

As a Business Ambassador you can choose the activities you take part in based on your interests and get paid for the work you do. You will be able to fit work around your studies and whilst there is no set number of hours we want you to do, we do expect some commitment over the year.

Full training is provided to all successful candidates after the interview stage and top up training takes place as and when required throughout the year.

Who can apply?

We recruit at the start of Semester 1 and Business School students at UG, PG and MBA level are welcome to apply. Unfortunately, we cannot consider students who are PGR level, exchange students or students from other Schools at the University.

Join our student content team

Do you have a flair for creating engaging video content? Then this role could be perfect for you!

We’re looking for a student to undertake the role of Student Content Creator.

This role will support with content creation and social media engagement.

Due to the specific nature of these roles, we’re looking for a student who has an interest, understanding of, or experience in either content creation /generation or video.

Typical tasks may include (depending on the role you choose):

  • creating video content to showcase the School, University, city and more.
  • editing videos (training provided)
  • creating short form video content for the Business School’s social channels,
  • supporting with content for the University’s Tik Tok account
  • sourcing / writing student testimonials and profiles to be used across a range of platforms
  • working with the Marketing Team to run social media takeovers
  • creating content to promote opportunities within the School to other students, to encourage attendance
  •  upkeep of content repository to support the Marketing Team to easily find content when required to support marketing communications, as well as identify gaps so new content can be created to support future marketing efforts
  • attend regular planning sessions with the Marketing Team to discuss new and engaging content ideas

Full training on systems will be provided for those who are successful in securing a role after interviews.

Who can apply?
